It pleased Darius to appoint 120 satraps to rule throughout the kingdom, 2 with three administrators over them, one of whom was Daniel. The satraps were made accountable to them so that the king might not suffer loss. 3 Now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.     – Daniel 6:1-3

Verse 3 tells us that the king wanted to hook Daniel up with a big promotion because of his exceptional qualities. Daniel’s boss, King Darius, who didn’t know God, saw exceptional qualities in him. Daniel served God, AND he was exceptional at what he did.

I don’t know about you, but I want to be somebody that’s known as: 1.someone that loves and serves God and 2. someone that is exceptional at what I do. This world has people that succeed in every industry that’s out there, so why can’t believers also be exceptional at what they do while serving God?

Here’s one thing I know. Daniel’s exceptional qualities were God given. People that serve an exceptional God are given exceptional qualities to do exceptional things for His glory!

What exceptional qualities can you begin to let out of the cage to do exceptional things for Christ? God rescued Daniel out of the lions den and changed King Darius’ heart through Daniel’s exceptional qualities and obedience.

What do you think he could do through yours? The possibilities are endless.
