Use Your IPhone

When I first got the IPhone, I honestly thought it was the coolest thing ever. But pretty soon after I got it and started to use it, I came to a difficult and humbling realization. I knew that I wasn’t using this phone to it’s full potential. Like I knew how to do all the basics: Facebook, Twitter, check my e-mail, play Angry Birds, etc. but I knew that there were tons of things that this phone could do that I wasn’t aware of. The IPhone had tools and power that I wasn’t fully hacked into or aware of. The more I thought about this, the more I realized how similar this is to what Paul says in Ephesians 1. Check it out:

Ephesians 1:18-21

18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
Paul prays that their eyes would be opened to the GREAT POWER that they have (verse 18-19).

He doesn’t pray that their church would grow greatly in numbers.

He doesn’t pray that the church leadership would change their tactics.

He doesn’t pray for their church to receive new believers.

He doesn’t pray that revival would start up in their town.

Paul prays that they would realize how much power they have. He prays that they would know just how equipped they truly are if they are in Christ.

Just like I wasn’t aware of, and didn’t use all the potential my IPhone had, I feel like a lot of believers are unaware, or are not tapped into all the power that they actually have if they’re in Christ. Because if you truly are in Christ, you’ve got crazy power. The same power that raised Jesus from the grave (verse 20).

So let’s use our IPhones.
