It’s All Good

Posted: January 28, 2010 in The Word

James 1:17 tells us straight up how awesome God truely is. It says, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” I don’t think we actually grasp what this is saying, it says every good and perfect thing is from Him. There are so many good things in our lives we don’t even notice most of them, the fact that your reading this now is a gift from God.

When we thing of the good things that we have in our life, we tend to think of physical objects like nice clothes, a roof over our head, or friends. There is one thing that everyone has, and this could be good or bad, and that is the desire to be fascinated.

As I was listening to a sermon by Mike Bickle, he began to talk about this desire, and reguardless of what you think, this desire will be filled. To get a glimpse of this we need to understand who God is. God is awesome, and He is everything that is perfect, and He knows that He is. As our Father, He wants us to experience everything that is good and perfect also. Because He wants this for us, He gave everyone the desire to be fascinated. His desire through this is for us to be fascinated through Him, experiencing all the good and perfect things that He has to offer. As Mike Bickle said, to be truely fascinated in Christ is the key to being holy.

So the desire to be fascinated is an awesome gift from God that He wants us to use to experience His blessings, but as always, the devil is attacking when there is potential for you to be in harmony with Christ. If your desire to be fascinated is not being filled by Christ, then it is going to be filled with the things of this world. This desire is not something that will be neutral, it will always be filled. Fill it with the things of Christ, He wants and desires it for you, and you will surely be blessed.
