Do you look up to someone? You should, literally.

Consistantly hearing and seeing things involving the Tiger Woods story has made me think of just how great of an impact he had on the world. Before the news came out, Tiger was a clean cut, popular, stud athlete. Being seen on virtually every commercial and in every magazine, Tiger was a guy who seemed to have it all together. Like any sports follower, I saw Tiger as a role model, along with the rest of America. How could anybody not be inspired by the things this guy does on the golf course? People wanted to wear the same watch, use the same cell phone service, drive the same car, and use the same clubs as Tiger. To sum it up, Tiger was the man.

And then the news broke out, the real Tiger was revealed. Suddenly people stopped looking up to him, sponsors dropped him, and his situation turned into a downward spiral. Tiger went from being an amazing role model, to someone that greatly let down all of his fans and followers. But Tiger is not the only one, everyone that you could ever look up to on this earth doesn’t have it all together, and that’s because they are human.

However, there is one perfect role model, and that’s Jesus Christ. As much as we associate celebrities with being role models, we forget to look up to the greatest role model there will ever be. Having an athlete role model is perfectly okay, but realistically, you will never have a relationship with that person. The great thing about Jesus is that not only is he your only example of a perfect role model, but he is your bestfriend. Jesus not only shows you where to go, but He will walk with you whatever the circumstance.

As much as we want to be like celebrities here on earth, let’s want to be like Jesus. Be blessed.
